Sharing my own Eureka moment if I may...

While searching for the Electoral Roll for REES, I've found the name of the Returning Officer for 1859 for the seat of The Gwydir twas Thomas Gordon Gibbs DANGAR, Esq...  who just happens to probably be a forebear on my OH's line  ;D...  :D

Sorry, I'll get back to Annie's marriages now  :D

Oh, forgot to add

James Snape in 1869 was the Police Magistrate and Coroner at Warialda,

JM

PS,  Outback, I'm enjoying the trawling through Warialda ... tis all part of the learning curve... I've got forebears from around Nundle, Warialda, all through there, known to be there from around 1880's and onwards...  So, I've got various resources for that area and I'm very pleased to be able to share the info via RChat.     Your tree .... Tis intriguing - there's some unique first names, and the MADDRAH surname WOW ... Urrrr... I've got my share of John and Mary Smith, or John Brown ... so popular, thus so difficult to crack those brickwalls.  Yet it seems that MADDRAH is also a difficult brickwall...  ;D

Hey thunda and crew

I haven't been online for a couple of days so you've all just blown my hair back..

I have printed your chat and i'm trawling through with my highlighter trying to add it all up (to put in my tree Brett/Reece) --- being very new to this the learning curve is steep.

Question: does it cost to order certificates?

And yes Annie and her mother, whoever she is, are soooo interesting..

My Mum (a Reece) had some original photographs of Annie and Isaace Steele --- she seems to have misplaced --- as soon as she finds I'll scan and supply.

Keep going ladies  :)

Ordering BDM certificates definitely COSTS...

The best option I have found for NSW certificates is actually to get an official transcript.  At the top of this thread you should see Australian Resources... then within that, there's NSW resources...

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,369703.0.html

and within that there's ·   Details on ALL Certificates for New South Wales
http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/familyHistory/certificateDatesAndContent.htm
http://www.jaunay.com/bdm.html
Transcription Agents
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,300394.0.html

I find that ordering a transcript for the birth of forebear gives lots of information about the parents, and if they had lots of children, then I also order the transcript for the youngest child to compare the info the parents provided.

Many cheers, and I should add... Rootschat is the bestest site around for getting and for offering help with family history. Tis of course, Just Moi Opinion  ;D

This is totally off topic but I was wanting to know how to trace someone who was adopted if your mother wont talk about it?? From myunderstanding you cant contact that person unless you have your mothers consent OR your mother is deceased. is this correct..

Eg: Mother had son and adopted him, later had other children. Through family gossip has now realised they have a sibling out there somewhere, mother has never mentioned it or probably not going too either..... Where do they stand.???

Thanks
