Hi there,

On this link you will find an Annie Adelaide REECE b abt 1850, and listing several children including an obvious variation in the name of your Richard Napoleon Wyombe Townsend REECE ( Whycome Napoleon R Townsend) ... have you considered contacting the author of that "tree"... perhaps to compare or share info  ;)

There's some great Australian Resources listed here at RChat ...

Agh....
So perhaps that "tree" info about Annie (the mother of the chap in this thread topic)  being born abt 1850 would be in doubt  :)

Here's the index reference for her 1869 marriage..  3634/1869  to William Townsend .... perhaps the actual certificate/transcript may include witnesses whose names may show they were related to Annie, or hopefully confirm her parents names or her stated age for that marriage, or note she was a widow etc ?   ;) or provide lots of information about her new husband  ;D

Hi Outback,
.....  do you have the details on Annie's 1869 marriage to William Townsend, at Warialda ... if so, what info did Annie submit about herself at that time please .. perhaps there's a clue to be gleaned ?  .....

Cheers,  JM

Hi there,

Remembering that it was not compulsory to enrol to vote for candidates for NSW Colonial Parliament, oh, and also that there were property qualifications before males were eligible to enrol....  The Gwyir electorate  included the Subdivisions/Police Districts of Walgett, Warialda and Wee Waa.   The following may (and of course may NOT) be part of Annie's tree...

1870/1 NSW Electoral Roll for The Gwyir
at line 1548 Steel, Jacob residing at Bingera (yep, with an E, seems that was the THEN spelling for the area)
and again at line 1549, same details ... either a duplication or a second chap with same name,
at line 1722:Towensend, William residing at Gundemean ... (yep there's an extra E in his surname !)

1878/79 NSW Electoral Roll for The Gwyir
line 2954, Steel, Jacob freehold qualification Bingera
line 3182 Townsend, Richard residence qualification Warialda

Cheers,  JM

Hmmm

So in the 7 and 1/2 years between Dec 1861 and July 1869 Annie only ages 2 years  :D

Perhaps her age at 2nd marriage is 27 badly written as 21??

Do you have the birth cert of the first child of William and Annie (William Henry b1869)?  Does it say anything else about Annie?

There should also be a "Usual place of residence" for both Annie and Isaac in first marriage cert, I would have thought.

Do you have the actual certs as it might be worth posting the bits that are difficult to read - the usual place of residence in 1st marriage and also Annie's mother's forename (Wisula ::) ) in 2nd
