Hi there teena,

William townsend as in Annie's husband was born 1844. They had a son william I believe born 1868/69....
Well ge on facebook tonight if you can and we can chat about the tree.LOL

JudB thanks again for your knowledge. Well On one of the certificates I have here for annies 1st marriage to isaace it sais annies mum is helen steel late maddrah...maiden name beacroft.
Then on annies marriage certificate to William Townsend it states mother as Orella Beacroft...Nowhere can I find such a person other than 1883 Bingara deaths Orella steele (steele being her married name) 1883 is the year Ellen died in bingara and orella matches a certificate. SO i have ordered it but it states no mother or father on the online indexes.

I cant match it so does that mean im stuck again or is there an agency in england that might be able to help???
I appreciate all your help

Thanks

According to my sketchy notes --- Isaace Reece (Steele) was born to Orella and Jacob Steele --- this was Orella's second marriage --- Annie was offspring to Orella's first marriage, father unknown but we have Annie as having her original surname as Marddrah (spellng?).. This is where I got the notion Annie and Isaace were actually related (same mother)  :-\

Free BMD (UK) has this marriage,

Jun qr 1839, registered at York.  Vol 23 p619

Benjamin MADDRAH, and on the same page
Ellen BEECROFT

Another site of extracted registrations for England and Wales shows the marriage:
Benjamin MADDRAH (father Benjamin MADDRAH) to Ellen BEECROFT (father John BEECROFT) 23 Apr, 1839 at York.  It may have been at St Maurice church.

Cheers, Judith

HI Jud,

I didnt really track Orella down, i typed into bdm

steele 1880-1890 bingara. Then i went through them. i dont think there was many then i noticed the year was teh same year ellen died and then i had a certificate on order, when it arrived i noticed it had orella on it. another certificate has wisula???? but that it. I can not work out where the orella fits in with ellen but i guess in time...

then before i decided to type into ancestry maddrah and though i'll sift through looking for spelling irregularities and like 8th person down was benjamin maddrah, spouse ellen beecroft...I was like seriously thats shocking.its been there all along.hahaha..maybe needed an outside perspective or another way of thinking.

Bit More

Confirming Judith's find and adding:

Online index for England & Wales Marriages, 1538-1940 indicates:

Benhamin Maddrah's father was also Benjamin Maddrah, and Ellen Beecroft's father was John Beecroft.
Ellen's marriage to Benjamin was 23 April 1839, at York.

Cheers,

JM
