Markhams of Bubwith & Wressle

Looking for my great grandfather, Harry Markham, b. 1886/87 probably son of blacksmith, John Markham.

  Hi, I have a Harry Markham on my tree born 1886 at Bubwith June Qtr 9D 92.
His parents were John Markham born Wressle 1853 & Elizabeth Green born Bubwith abt 1848 they married at Bubwith  Dec 1873.
Harry had the following brothers & sisters ;
Annie Elizabeth born abt. 1874
Mary born abt. 1876
Ellen bn. abt 1878
Hannah bn. abt. 1880
William Bn abt. 1883
Louisa bn. abt. 1885
John bn. abt 1890
Harry's father was a blacksmith as was his grand-father William Markham born Wressle 1814 died 1864
Harry's gr-mother was Hannah (Ann) Gamwell born abt. 1814 marr.1834 at Wressle.

John had the following brothers & sisters;
Mordacai bapt. 1835 died 1839
Mary bapt. 1837
Ellen Bapt. 1839
Mordacai bapt 1842
Henry Bapt. 1845 died 1847
Ann Elizabeth bap.1848
Jane bap 1852 died 1852
Twins Louisa & Lavinia bap. 1855
Henry bap 1859

What a great start to the week, 06:30 and your message is exactly what I had hoped for. 
I have been tracking down the blacksmiths and horsebreakers in the area who seem to be related.
I got back to William, Harry's blacksmith grandfather but can not identify Harry's father.  Would you know, please?
I also found Thomas W Markham, Blacksmith of Eastrington b. abt 1864 and Joseph Markham of Braithwell b. abt 1852.

Nice to be able to help, as a matter of interest the Thomas William of Eastrington you mentioned is my great grand-father,  by 1891 after living  at South-Cave he had moved to Hull where my Gr-father and following descendants where born and some still live. Any-way pleased that your pleased and let me know if you need any more info as my Markhams tree is a fair size.

Hi Melm,
I have seen the 1871/1881 census returns for William Markham of Wressle showing his birth year as 1841 and 1833 respectively and his son Thomas William, your great grandfather.
How does your William relate to William Markham 1814 to 1864 and Martin 1815.
Two weeks ago, I had no idea this pastime existed, now I have been bitten!

As skm as stated I am an East Yorkshire Markham having been born in Hessle. My father, Walter James Markham was born in Hull but his father was from Ludford Magna, Lincolnshire.
