We had a small gathering recently, in the Auckland Domain grandstand. If it's fine you have the whole of the Domain. If wet, there is shelter in the Grandstand, and toilets to boot.

At least there is lots of parking and buses are close by for me

Another place would be Dove Myer Robinson Park,Also known as
Parnell Rose Garden, Nancy Stein Memorial Gardens, Pohutukawa area, Judges Bay, St Stephens Cemetery and Fred Ambler Lookout.
There is the historic chapel of St Stephens and the adjoining cemetery is well worth a wander.
I was just thinking the domain often has concerts in the rotunda so we would have to check that out

There is also that garden place in Mt Eden. Can't think of the name but it also has a tea room as well

Perhaps we should decide what sort of format we want the meeting to take. If it's just a social gathering, a time to compare notes and research tips or a combination of all the above plus any others that may come up.

It would be best away from public holidays  from accomodation points of view although I am happy to host a couple and maybe others around Auckland could as well.

If we are happy to head up my way (Warkworth) I could arrange an indoor and an outdoor venue at little or no cost.

Perhaps if those interested could let someone know their preferences then it could be co-ordinated, I am happy to take the short staw if that is acceptable
