Maurice Richard Neale....Bristol?
« on: Monday 23 November 09 07:39 GMT (UK) »
Hi There,

just wondering if anyone can help with this one.

M. R. Neale died in 1949.  (Maurice Richard Neale)

Was at Bristol University and part of the OTC.

He might of been something to do with St. James Church in Bristol at some stage as well........

His address in 1922 was 100, City Road, Bristol.

I have no other information about him so any help with this gent would be great.

Can anyone help please?

Regards,
Chris Neale.

Hi Chris - I imagine you are looking for recent info rather than where he was from?
I couldn't find a registration of death in 1949, but it's possible he died late in December where the nearest I could find is Maurice A Neale who died jan - mar qtr 1950 age 52?  I don't think this is him as it is registered Leicester.

I couldn't find a birth registration, but he's there in 1911 at the address you give Maurice Richard Neale age 18 born Bristol, parents William Henry 37 and Winifred Nellie 27, it says maurice is the son of WH Neale

a Maurice A (R) Neale married Eva Weaver 1935 Apr-Jun qtr Bristol

Hi There,

Firstly a Happy New Year to all and I hope everyone had a Great Christmas/Holiday Season  :D

Still trying to find out more about this chap:

Maurice Richard Neale who was from the Bristol area.

I understand there are a few churches within the Bristol area that have the name St. James. some of these appear to be a fair distance from City Road though and I also believe another church with the same name "St. James" was bombed during WW2.

It would be great to find out more about this Neale family member if possible,
where he lived, where he was buried did he have any brothers or sisters or even his own children?

Can anyone help with this?  :)

I would be most grateful.

Regards,
Chris Neale.

From the census returns I posted above, Maurice seems to have been an only child.

Maurice's father William married his second wife Winifred N TAYLOR in Bristol, Sep Q 1910 ( Bristol 6a 91) - there are no likely children for this couple born in the Bristol area in the following years.  (The index shows some NEALE children in other parts of the country whose mother's maiden name was TAYLOR, but these seem unlikely.)

I can see some possible children for Maurice and his wife, but I will send the details via PM, as they may still be alive.
