1881 shows a widowed Jane E. McKay, 44 b Southampton, in Hackney with 14 yr old son Fred J. McKay b St Pancras. She's a mantle maker which is close to Emma's 1871 occupation of dressmaker. RG11/297/11/16

So perhaps, if this is the right family, we should be looking for a marriage of a Jane Emma [Bath]?

Hi all and thanks for your contributions.

Maxie has been looking for information on Emma Bath and Alexander McKay since 2005, there are too many links to post here but if you got to search, type in Emma Bath McKay in 'Search for' and 'Maxie' as the user, you'll find about 10 threads relating to this.

No marriage has been found for this couple in England and Wales despite many useful suggestions. As Valda said earlier, they most probably didn't marry (for whatever reason) and bluffed their way through a birth registration and baptism.

Please check what has been posted before to prevent further duplication of efforts.

Hi everyone,

I'd like to thank everyone too.

It is true that I have been looking for Alexander for ages and I don't want anyone to think I've been time  wasting  :-[
I was hoping that I might find something now that there are so many new records available.

Still hoping  :(
