Hi treasure,
A warm welcome to rootschat.
Can you give us a bit more info, dates, areas of Yorkshire and first names if possible.
I had a look on the West Lothian family history soc. burial index for Whitburn but no joy.
www.wlfhs.org.uk
The other option is to try the fantastic website.
www.memento-mori.co.uk
There is supposed to be a Spanish connection to Ireland with the Spanish armada fleet but I do not know if they made it to Yorkshire.
We can find out though.
The more info you provide the easier it is to work on.
regards,Billy.

Hi Billy, thanks for replying. I,m afraid I dont know an awful lot, only what my grandmother used to say about a spanish lady marrying into the family. I think she said she was a teacher(wish I had paid more attention!) All the female surnames I have are Barker, Burton, Colley,Dring, Pybus, so far, none Spanish sounding!  I will have a look at the web-site you mentioned. Thanks
