COMPLETED Parish Records KEEBLE/BUTCHER Raydon
« on: Wednesday 18 November 09 19:22 GMT (UK) »
Thomas Keeble aged 25, bachelor, resident of Raydon at the time, married Harriet White, 18, spinster, resident at the time at Wenham Magna, at the Independent Chapel in the District of Samford Hundred on 26 January 1848. On the marriage certificate, Harriet's father is given as Thomas White but Thomas KEEBLE's father is given as Thomas BUTCHER.

While there maybe other explanations, it seems likely that Thomas Keeble was illegitimate and his mother was a KEEBLE and his father was named BUTCHER.

From the age of 25 at the time of marriage, Thomas would appear to have been born between about 1821 to 1823.

Is there anyone who would please look up the baptism records around 1821 to 1823 for Thomas KEEBLE or Thomas BUTCHER, perhaps in Raydon and Hadleigh, or in the Bishop's Transcripts ?

Hello francoso
I'm late to the party, but also researching Thomas Keeble. You mention you have seen a copy of his marriage certificate to Harriet where it states his father's name as Butcher. Is a copy of this certificate available anywhere? My Keeble/Suffolk ancestry search got a bit more complicated when a relation married a Hadleigh Keeble and my 3rd great grandmother is a Tannington Keeble! Thanks

Hi Wendy. Yes I have a copy of several BMDs related to Keeble/Butcher including his M cert, but I am unable to add a copy to this posting  -- maybe because this has been classified as a COMPLETED Parish Record. If you wish to send me your email address via the Personal Message button I could attach the record and others that you may wish to obtain: B=Mary Keeble 1855 Raydon; D=Harriett Keeble nee White 1848 Raydon; D=Mary Beckett nee Keeble 1848; D=Robert Keeble 80 Raydon; D=Thomas Keeble 72 Raydon; D=Thomas Keeble 88 Raydon; M=Thomas Keeble & Sarah Bloss 1879; and M=Thomas Keeble (widower) & Susannah Lester (widow) 1890.

Regards
francoso

Hi - thanks for your swift and generous reply. As I'm new to this, I can't seem to work out how to do a personal message. If possible could you message me?

Hi Wendy. Under your name are two stars meaning two posts. You need to do three posts iin total to use Pwesonal Message (PM). A green icon of a message will appear when you have done three posts. So do that by just sending me another post with nothing in it. Then just click on the my PM and carry on with message. If you are still awake you can do it now.
Best
