Hi,
I am researching the names on the Kirkhamgate Memorial on behalf of the Kirkhamgate Community Association as we would like to try and publish some sort of history of the men to honour them. I would love to hear from any relatives as I would like them to read the information I have about John William Brook and if anyone had a photo that would be brilliant. I have the report which was printed in the Wakefield Express at the time of his death which says amongst other things that an officer writing to his brother after his death said he was 'steady quiet and resourceful.' I believe his brother Tom also enlisted and was wounded, coming back to stay with his brother Lawton at Red Lodge Farm which is next door but one to our farm. Regards Janet
