William Parr 1762 marriage
« on: Monday 16 November 09 05:58 GMT (UK) »
William PARR b. 1762  died 1821 age 59 he was a MACCLESFIELD schoolmaster and buried at St Perter's Church Prestbury Cheshire, He married  Betty ?  who was b. 1777 and died 1805 age 28, she was buried in the same grave as her husband.
I am wanting  any other information about this couple, where they were married, where they were born, and at which school he taught. I have tried several links given by this site, they seem to not be operating at this time.
 Thanks Mrs G

That's a Tall order Mrs G  ;D ;D ;D

Seriously. I might be able to help with the school,  Was the school in Macclesfield and did he live there? Do you know approximately when he was a schoolmaster. As Promised in the summer Cheshire County Council has now added more directories.I have had a look through a couple but cant find him.If you have any idea of any years he was working as a teacher.I might be able to find him in the older directories on film in the archives or in the library Books.

Hello Celia, I did have my fingers crossed when sending that message.
I do not have any more information about William or Betty Parr  other than what I wrote.
I now live in Australia, all my ancestor searching is done via the 'net.
I have other family members who are buried in the churchyard of St Peter's Church Prestbury, with the surnames of MILLWARD and  PARR.    A friend came across this gravestone of William and Betty PARR.
I have not yet connected them to the other family members I already have.
I was hoping to find a St Peter's church listing of BMD somewhere.
Thank you for answering my message, Mrs G

Hi Mrs G,

I have checked the information I have on marriage indexes and can't find a match for your William PARR - I'm not aware of the Prestbury records being published or available.

If you find a link that doesn't work, pleased could you click on the "Report to Moderator" button on the post - if I know a link doesn't work I'll try and find if the information is still available elsewhere.

Thanks,

Jean
