That 1901 Edward could seem possible, having gone from being a licensed victualler in Heigham in 1891 to being a brewer's labourer.
However, that Edward Cole married Mary Slater in Erpingham reg dist (which covers Antingham) in June quarter 1890, and they were in Maidstone in 1891. His birth was reg in Erpingham reg dist in 1863.
Our Edward Cole married Edith Harriet Johnson in King's Lynn in 1882 (making her very young if she was 26 in 1891).
He seems most likely to have been the son of Elijah (consistently mistranscribed as Elizah), a beer house keeper in Heigham in 1871, and Elizabeth, aged 4 in 1861 and 14 in 1871, so born 1856-57. There is no good match for that info in birth registrations ... Just trying to see whether he might have had a middle name, and what his accurate dob might be.
