Dunne family
« on: Sunday 15 November 09 00:51 GMT (UK) »

Hi, I'm new here so please let me know if I step out of bounds.

My Gr.GrandFather came from Athy approximately 1864 Edward. His parents were John and Bridget (Hayden) Dunne. There were 13 children, 3 sets of twins, only 6 children lived to come to the USA. Siblings names were Annie,Luke,Denis,Patrick and James. Denis came by himself later after the rest of the family.

Any help welcome. I'll be coming over 11/19th for 10 days.

thanks, ED
John Dunne, Bridget Hayden Dunne

IGI (see www.familysearch.org for full details) listed christenings of 9 children (St. Michael's which is probably name of church)-
1847 Luke and Patrick
1849 Denis
1851 Ellen
1853 Michael and Honor
1854 Joseph
1855 John
1857 Catherine

Have moved this thread to Kildare board for you and hopefully other Rootschatters with local knowledge might be able to help.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hi had a search on the Kildare Genealogy Website. This is pay per view unfortunately 5euro to actually view each record fully.

There is a Bridget Hayden getting married in 1842 in Castledermot Roman Catholic Church. I cannot search by bride and groom together. But there is also a John Dunne getting married in the same year same church. So looks likely that this is correct marriage.

Castledermot appears to be close enough to Athy.
