Here's Sarah on the 1851 census:
ref HO107 1607 folio 45: Reeves Row, Dover Road, Welling, Bexley
Joseph Sears (this is unclear) head mar age 40 farm labourer born Wood Bridge Suffolk
Mary do wife mar age 48 born Reading Berkshire
Sarah Creed dau age 15 born Hammersmith Middx

There is no mention of anyone with the name Jarvest in the 1851 census index for the area of Bexley/Welling.

Could it possibly read as John Spear? I found this on Free BMD

Hi Kris,
I don't think it's Spear, and the first name is definitely Joseph.

Here's the entry from the 1861 census (that is much clearer !!)
ref RG9 465 folio 66: Welling, Bexley
Mary Ann LEWIS head wid age 60 laundress born Berkshire Reading
Mary Ann Creed grand dau age 5 scholar born Bexley
Edward F Jarvest head mar age 32 carpenter and joyner born Surrey Lingfield
Sarah F do wife mar age 25 dress maker born Middlesex Hammersmith
John E Jarvest son age 1 born Bexley

mmm interesting. so she remarried (Lewis) again? or the names says Lewis not Sears?

Hi Kris,
I think the name says Lewis, rather than Sears, the middle of the word is very unclear.

Here's Edmund and Mary, with Sarah in 1841:
