Elizabeth REES - Llangurig

My gt gt grandmother was Elizabeth Rees born about 1835 in Llangurig Montgomeryshire in North Wales. I only have this detail from later census records. She married William Thomas Cornford in 1862 in Islington London and had her family in London.

Her marriage record shows her father's name as Richard Rees and his occupation as farmer.

Does anyone else have any connections that might extend this information. Or know if Llangurig parish records are available on line or to purchase.

I was interested to read that you are related to Richard Rees from Llangurig.

I don't know whether our 2 families are connected but my gr gr gr grandfather was Edward Rees, the parish clerk and school master in Llangurig.  He was born about 1796.  He lived at Penybont, Llangurig.

I wonder whether he was a brother to Richard?

Here are his details from the 1841 census:

Edward Rees aged 45 Parish Cl.
Aanne Rees aged 40
Anne Rees aged 13
Margaret Rees aged 10
John Rees aged 8
William Rees aged 4
Sarah Rees aged 2
 
His son Edward W Rees who had already left home at this time is my gr gr grandfather.

I know very little about this family as yet.

Elizabeth moved to London and married there. The only reference I have to her father is in the marriage record from the London parish registers.

I would be interested at some time to view the parish registers for LLangurig to see how this family is made up. I cant even confidently find the right Richard in the census records.
