I have been through lots of websites, but cant find any pictures of the hotel.Only a mention of its destruction in the war, In reference rooms of main libraries of the area. They are sure to have a book with  pictures of hotels in them like they have old picture houses.Or photos/drawings that get handed in to them by the public.
If you search the net for libraries Scarborough find the one that you want then email them.Let us know how you get on if you do that ;D

Hi - these entries in the London Gazette suggest that there was a Prince of Wales Hotel in Scarborough in 1970 and possibly as late as 1986 - could be a separate establishment of course...

I have found a reference to the Prince of Wales being hit during WW1 in the Crownspa Hotel history. As I thought, the Prince of Wales was on the Esplanade on the South Side, possibly on the corner of Prince of Wales Terrace. Quite a few of the hotels on the Esplanade have been converted into flats. Could find no reference to the hotel being hit during WW2.

Hi

You're in luck! I have a number of books about the history of Scarborough, many of which contain a variety of photographs and line-drawings. A brief glance through a few of them have thrown up the following ...

An original water colour painting from 'SCARBOROUGH: Queen of English Watering Places' by H. R. Quinton, reproduced and published by J. Salmon, possibly about 1910. The Prince of Wales is at the top left of the picture.

Part of a panoramic photograph by Sarony in 'PEERLESS SCARBOROUGH', one of Mate's Illustrated Guides c1901

Photograph from 'SCARBOROUGH' by Dennis Coggins, 1991. The Prince of Wales can be seen quite clearly in the background.

And, saving the best until last ...

Again, from 'PEERLESS SCARBOROUGH'

MT ;)
Researching ...
PASHBY in Scarborough, Levisham, and outlying area
SEDMAN in Scarborough, Scalby, Everley and Hackness
BIRD in Easington, Patrington, Sculcoates and Hull
DOBSON in Edinburgh, Wakefield, York and Scarborough
SUTTON in Wintringham and Scarborough
ROSS in Edinburgh and outlying districts

I saw your message about the Prince of Wales.  It is still standing and is now luxury flats.  When did your grandmother work there because my grandfather was a chef there from around 1900 until sometime during the first world war when he enlisted.
