Still looking for the Edge family from around the Ellesmere district of Shropshire. We have been to the records office in Shrewsbury and have found some but have to sort out as there seems to be many  with the same first name. Thomas. Found one from Ellesmere  Thomas Edge, son of Samuel Jackson and Hannah nee Edge in 1771. can anyone shed some light please.

Have you managed to resolve your query?

'Just checked my Edge's Around North Shropshire database. I have several dozen Thomas Edges but, apart from a Thomas Edge b "Shropshire" abt 1771, their birth dates don't closely match. Thomas is recorded on the 1841 Ellesmere, District 11, Census. He isn't one of my Edge family.

There are many other Edges in District 11 in 1841 including an Ambrose Edge. Whilst Thomas & Ambrose may not be related a (probably incorrect) thought comes to mind. Ambrose was a common Edge name across the Welsh border in Hamner. Hanmer I recall was within the Ellesmere Poor Law Union. As a long shot should you consider looking at Hanmer records?
