Hi Ticker

I have information about Jenkin Scarr's son John Scarr from 1607 to the present (that's my husband line).  I also have some information on Jenkin's son Richard (not much really).

I would like any information on son George, Matthew, and Richard as well as Jenkin himelf....his parents, siblings, wife, etc.

So if there are any Scarr searchers out there please contact me.

This is a great site. :) Ontchick

Hi Ontchick

I can't help with your specific query but you could try the Dales Family History Society. They are a very active and friendly internet group covering this area. Go to www.groups.yahoo.com/group/dalesfhs to join the list.

Hello - Have just found my great, great, great, great grandmother ( with invaluable help from Roz from this site!) on the 1841 census.
Her name is Catherine Scarr born in Hunton n.Yorks 1779 her parents are listed as Jno (presume John) Scarr & Mary Irvin but I have no birth details, however my family (down through the generations) have always told me that my ancestors came from Askrigg . Does this ring any bells?
Catherine was married to James Pratt in Patrick Brompton & had sons George, Matthew & Benjamin- I can follow that line all the way up to the present day.
Please contact me if you'd like to hear more or think there might be a connection.
Bye for now

Hi Rose!!!
From what information you have given me I don't see any connection yet.  It appears that all the Scarr from this area are somehow related.  :-\  If you want to trade info let me know..maybe between the two of us we can figure it out.

Have a great weekend!!!
