Mary Mealor may be Mary Miller Rees who married James Dec Q 1880 Chester Reg District.

The mealor family from Ness (in between Burton and Neston) ran a plough making business,its now a lawnmower shop but i don't think its actualy owned by the mealors any more.I've attached a photo which shows the sign for Mealors plough shop on the right

Since I posted this request, I have found a Mealor descendent in Aus. and more possible eveidence that James Mealor married the "Right" Mary Miller Rees in 1880.
My notes show me that her brother David Lee Rees (31)was the head teacher of Lanfyn(y)dd School in 1881 Census, and that his mother Martha and niece Amy Seddon were there as well.

It looks like Gwern Hefrig, Hope may be close by. Do you know where that farm was?

It would seem that David died young in 1885

so Joseph was born in 1850 , not 1851..
there are 3 Mealor families in Willaston at this time....with babtisms on record...

Information from book Neston 1840-1940 published by the Burton and South Wirral local history society (copies quite often pop up on ebay)

Samuel mealor and his wife Margaret both born in willaston but had moved to ness by 1851 (methodist family).Their eldest surviving son Joseph was born in ness in 1852 but does not show on the local 1871 census was presumed to be apprenticed away from home as he is shown in the 1881 census as a blacksmith.Joseph started the plough company and filed many patents for plough designs(there was a blacksmiths as part of the plough business).By 1935 the proprietors were joseph mealor (snr) and his son john j mealor.

The premises won't be there much longer as planning permission was granted for the building of houses on the yard but the original building will be incorperated in the design

Buried Graceland ; housewife; record #1030906

Haven't found passage to USA or Canada record post 1881 Census of Hope, Flint, Wales

Death in 1885 means possible couple of children, if any one has the time or access to other records than I do.

The Yard has now gone and has new houses on the site but with hardly any space to the front or back, they may struggle to sell.

There was a court case between James Maelor ( Mealor ) and his (unnamed) brother who was living in Birkenhead. .
It is definately them, Mary is mentioned along with the farm Gwerneffrech.
