Only had a quick read of your posting so do not know if this info is relevent. Found them while trying to find my elusive Nisbet/Nesbits! Found spelling variations

15/8/1784 Margaret Nesbit born to James Nesbit and Margaret Thornburn FR1235 Coldingham 732/00500121
27/2/1774 Margaret Nisbet born to John Nisbet and Isobel Nisbet FR1206 Coldingham 732/00500062
1784 15th August birth Margaret Nisbet to Robert Nisbet and Mary Darling in Coldingham

I have an Isabella b1780, Margaret b1784 and Janet b1793 all Scotland but never been able to find out where!
Think 1784 birth mine but until I find other children of same parentage unsure!

Good luck in your search

Am a first timer here.

My great grandfather, William Johnston, was the son of George Johnston & Margaret Nisbet. William came to Australia in 1848.
There were three other brothers, George-DOB 18/08/1811, James-DOB14/07/1807, John-DOB 15/01/1818 and a sister Alison-DOB 08/05/1812.

Margaret passed away on 05/12/1829, aged 45 yrs.

Looking to further research on these families.

Hi there,
I have a few more Johnstons in George & Mgt Nisbets family.
In addition to George 1811, James 1807, John 1818 & Alison 1812 I have
Helen b abt 1816,  Janet b abt 1821, William abt 1823 & Elizabeth abt 1808.
I cannot find a birth record for Elizabeth but on the 21st March 1834 she married John Bertram @ Coldingham. She died Prenderguest, Ayton, Berwickshire on 24 Sept 1857. They had 4 sons:
John 1835 died 1925 at Arthur, Ontario,
George 1837 died 1911 ( my g.grandfather) @ Drem, East Lothian,
Thomas 1841 died 1908 @ Willington, Durham,
James 1849 died 1924 @ Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne.
I have George Johnston being born @ East Barns, Dunbar, East Lothian on 17th Jan 1777 & he died @ Templehall, Coldingham on 20th Aug 1855
Mgt Nisbet b. 6th June 1784 @ West Calder, Berwickshire, died 5th Dec 1829 @ Coldingham.
I have George's parents as James Johnston abt 1835 & Alison Fowler.
Mgt Nisbet's parents as William Nisbet & Jean Calder ( but not certain abt Jean Calder). There seems to be a few choices here so mine maybe wrong.
Best wishes, George

Hi George,
I don't have anything on Helen, Elizabeth or Janet for George and Margaret's family. In saying that, I'm just starting out with family history.

I have a Janet Johnston who appears to be the daughter of George Johnston & Elizabeth Henderson. She married Thomas Paterson.

I have Thomas passing 08/12/1900 @ Spring Creek, aged 81yrs and Janet 11/08/1894 near Spring Creek, aged 73yrs. Not sure where Spring Crk is.
There is a headstone in the Cobbra, NSW, cemetery which I have photographed.

There appears to be a son as Janet and a William Paterson signatures appear on my great g/fathers (William Johnston/Margaret Bain) marrage certificate.
