I am signing too...my later mother-in-law was a member of the land army in Norhtumberland...I think she should have been recognised for her war effort.
Posgate- Co. Durham, Northumberland.
Gladstone-Co.Durham.
Topping-Northumberland.
Towns-Co.Durham.

Most importantly looking for my Grandmother Ivy Topping/otherwise Richardson last heard of in May, 1920 in Alnwick.

Joan,

Thank you for your support, however, instead of re-opening e-petitions after the elections.  The powers that be have closed them !!!
I have e-mailed them twice but...guess what, no reply as yet.
If and when they get back to me, I will let you know.

Regards

Should we start it again?  :( It would seem a certain amount of time wasted but perhaps we could start something on Facebook too!  ;)

Hi Dee,

That was my first thought but, would people be bothered to sign it a second time ? I would lose all the signatures on it already.
Also that would mean three threads for one topic on Rc, unless some clever mod could merge them ?

I am so hacked off with the twits at No 10, and they haven't even replied yet..surprise surprise !
I will give them till Monday, as I'm quite busy this week but, thanks for replying and I'll keep you updated.

Debbie xx

Hopefully it should be still there so this will be an additional one... If we get a group on facebook/Twitter etc with a link then maybe even more people will find it....

With a new Government in place a review is taking place of online services, including e-petitions. We are committed to improving the e-petitions process and are looking at ways of ensuring that it functions as part of a cohesive approach to public debate and transparent government. A full announcement on how we plan to use these and other services across Government will be made as soon as this important work is completed.

Existing e-petitions, submitted to the previous administration, will not be carried forward to the new administration as part of this process. E-petitions that were live at the time of the election announcement on 6 April, when the e-petitions system was suspended, will therefore not be reopened for signatures. We will respond to e-petitions that had exceeded the 500 signature threshold as of 6 April 2010.

We will welcome resubmission on issues of concern to the improved e-petitions system when it is launched later in 2010.

What a bloody cheek !! How many other petitions have now just been discarded ?

VERY ANGRY !

How frustrating...and rather undemocratic :(
McBride (Monaghan, Manchester), Derbyshire (Bollington,Cheshire), Knight (Newcastle,Staffs), Smith (Chorley, Lancs & Ireland), Tipladay (Manchester & Yorkshire) ,Steadman (Madeley,Shropshire), Steele (Manchester,Glasgow), Parkinson (Wigan, Lancashire), Lovatt, Cornes & Turner (Staffs) Stott (Oldham, Lancs). All ended up Ardwick, Manchester
