Pinot, thanks for spotting that, have modified original message, hope that works. Now over 1000 people have read it. I need at least 500 before it can go to the house of commons again.
Come on peeps do it for your Mums and Grannies !!

Hi Mr. Migky,

Deeboneham posted a message in the armed forces forum earlier, unfortunately only 96/7 have signed, quite disappointing but hey ho, nothing ventured etc etc.

Thanks for asking

Just tried to sign the ePetition now and this message appears:-

"During the official campaign period for the General Election the e-Petitions system will be closed to new submissions and signatures. The Government will also not issue responses to petitions during this period. This is to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Civil Service Code on party political neutrality.

Any petitions due to close between the announcement of the General Election and 3 June will have their deadlines extended to 3 June. Petitions will reopen for signatures upon the formation of the Government following the General Election."

Does this mean we can't sign until after 6th May?

Hi Tilly,
Just been reading that also, don't know if it's May 6th of June 3rd ?

Maybe somebody on here can clarify this.

Hi Debbie

just posted this over on CF but I'll repeat it here :)

I believe the reason that the date of 3 June is given is sheer laziness by the e-petition "gatekeepers" who have just posted a bog standard reply set up ages ago. 3rd June was the very last date by which the government had to have an election under the 5 Year Rule. The fact that it has since been called a month early seems to have escpaed the numpty who stuck up that message.

But knowing civil servants I doubt they will re-open the petition until the 4th June now.

Seems crystal clear to me.

Reopen for signatures following the election.
Deadlines extended to 3 June (obviously to compensate for the period of suspension).
