This website might help http://www.asrmcs-club.com/

My father was in Air Sea Rescue during the war - I'll ask him if he knew Cyril, a long shot but you never know!

Hi,
This is a very long shot, I can see the last message was posted in 2009. But I am doing a family search for Cyril Douglas Ashford, born in Shipley in 1914.. Or any relations of his. He was in the RAF during the war and I believe he was based in Malta.

My father is Robert Ashford, born in 1938 and was evacuated to the north east during the war. Unfortunately his mother and father divorced and he grew up with his grandmother, not ever knowing his other 'Ashford' family.

Hope to have a reply and any information is most welcome

Sorry that should say SHEPPEY as in the ISLE-OF-SHEPPEY...... but the spelling changed it to shipley
