Jervis, Jervice, Jarvis baptisms COMPLETE
« on: Wednesday 04 November 09 22:27 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find any further children of  John and Johanna Jervice.  He was from South Brent when he married  Johanna West 20.4.1802 in Mark, which is where Joanna was born in 1781 .

I have their first child, my 3 x great grandfather,  George West Jarvis born circa 1803 but no baptism date and today I found his brother John born c1814 both South Brent.  I am sure there must be children in between these two and would love to find them.

I think John Jarvis senior died prior to 1841 as his wife Johanna is found in Mark on her own for the census and in 1851 she is with her son George and 1861 with her son John.

I would like to find out the date of John's death as well which was probably in the South Brent vicinity, if anyone has access to South Brent bap and burials and would do a look up for me, I would be very grateful for any further information.

Thanks in advance.
Elizabeth

Elizabeth

You have probably found them by now, but there were also four girls:

Ann Jarvis/Jervice bapt 01.08.1806
Elizabeth Jervis bapt 18.07.1809
Charlotte Jervis bapt  20.05.1811 - I presume she died young, because of:
Charlotte Jervis bapt. 16.10.1817

There could possibly be others, but these are all I have found

Hi Liz,
Just satisfying my curiousity!
Did John Jervis 1813, Marry Mary GILES?
Then their Daughter Lavinia is with Matilda Jervis, Daug of Jonas/Maria in the 1861 Census with their Grandmother Joanna GILES born c 1792, Mark, Somerset.
So Brothers Married Sisters??

Answered my own question, Marriage and Levinia Christening is on F/S.Org.

 Hi Trish,

Many thanks for posting all that information for me but as you say I had found it since posting and forgot to update my original post.  In truth, I had forgotten I'd posted as there was a long space of time between.

You are right about the Jervis brothers marrying the Giles sisters, at least according to my notes.  Coincidental really as my great grandmother Annie Jarvis also married a Giles but a completely different family originally coming from Berkshire.

Thanks again,
Elizabeth
