I don't recollect Huntrods in any local data.
He was not in the area in 1901 or 1911 census.
Although he died in Auckland reg district he may have been buried in Guisborough his home town? Bodies were regularly transported back to the family church.

St Mark's Burial records held at the Church don't contain any Huntrods.
Hunt and Hunter do occur but not in the right period.

I'm not sure what site you been looking at but the only fees at Durham Record Office are for printouts & photocopies.  It's free to park, free to enter & there's no fees to look at the records yourself.

no i mean the fees for them to look for me, i wouldnt know how to get ti durhamj if i tried and hate driving places i dont know, i ran g and asked them to do a search form me but they said something like £20 for ther search then £3;00 per photocopy plus postage, because i cant be specific and know exactly where he is buried, bit ironic when i'm trying to get them to find that info for me, if i knew where he was buried i wouldnt have asked them.

I have access to the burial records held by St Mark's Church Eldon (some records are only available at Durham Records Office since they were filed before photocopying was available). I also have scanned 2 account books of Mr Clark a local Funeral director from about 1912-1930.
Unfortunatley these can only be searched visually.

I also have a photo and document archive for Eldon.

Are you still looking ?

Regards Colin

Good morning Colin, do you by any chance have photographs of the war graves at Eldon St marks

Phil

I have Old (1926) photos of the war memorial, rededication ones 1956 and recent ones. I haven't taken photos of the gravestones but if I can find the right ones it would be easy for me to get them.

Colin, that would be fantastic, the headstone is a Standard CWGC headstone.  Here are the casualty details

ELDON (ST. MARK) CHURCHYARD
SHUTTLEWORTH. GEORGE ALBERT, 3649492 - Grave D.363.
The son of John Foster and Lucy and husband of Eliza Shuttleworth, of Coundon Grange, Durham, Private Shuttlworth originally enlisted with the South Lancashire Regiment before being posted to the Durham Light Infantry, where he served with the 6th Battalion.  Despite his age, it is possible that Private Shuttleworth, saw action in North Africa, Sicily and North West Europe, before returning to the UK.  Private Shuttleworth died in the UK whilst on active service on the 18th June 1947 aged 47, possibly as a result of wounds sustained.
