Hi Tiatai,

According to the India Office Family site, Boyle Octavius Loane (misspelt Leane) married Louisa Dunterville Jack on 9th October 1810.  It was reported in Madras India (but not sure if that is where the actual marriage took place).  Still waiting for certifictes to arrive.  Hope this helps,
Margaret

:) Margaret thanks so much for the help - out of interest do you know anything about their son Richard Loane - I had C1806 but perhaps it is later than this.

Tiatai, I guess so, according to this record.  Have you been on the NLA Australian Newspapers beta, there is quite a bit of information regarding the Loanes, their arrival in Tasi etc and records of their marriages etc. Boyle Octavius's death,  There are quite a few results so you would have to search through to find the correct Loanes.  You just have to put their names in.

Firstly, I would like to add my thanks to all those who went to the trouble of finding information and placing it in this topic - your efforts are very much appreciated.  I hope your good graces may extend to my further requests which I have placed in new topics today.

I am unable to add information specific to this topic's requests, but I am a descendant of Elias DUNSTERVILLE,  (which I had only suspected before reading this topic, but now confirmed), and although I have not carried out much primary research myself, I am most happy to share what little I have with the other researchers who have posted here.  The family name CLEATHER linked to DUNSTERVILLE answers a question I long held in regards to the naming of Ann CLeather LOANE.

Tiatai,
I conclude from your comment re your 'daughter's 6 x Great Grandparent's', that the LOANE line of descent is paternal, but that you are the family researcher.  I am descended through Richard Boyle LOANE, and have researched the LOANE family for many years, both in Australia and Ireland - I am most willing to exchange research information with you on this family.

I take it that it is more appropriate to talk about any information held, and exchange of same, in personal messages.

Eric (in Australia)

Dent - Madras
« Reply #23 on: Wednesday 12 May 10 00:50 BST (UK) »
My wife's family (the Ricketts of South India) married into the Dents in Madras in 1816, when John Dent married Emily Ricketts.

John was reportedly born in Trainlands in 1795. He died in 1845 in Calcutta.

There is a great statue of John Dent in St George's Cathedral, Madras.

John and Emily's daughter, Emily Jane, died in 1830 in her uncle's house in Fitzroy Square, London.

Do you have any more details of John and his brother?

Thanks

Yes, I have a great deal more information about John Dent, his brothers, descendants etc (I am in touch with two of them).  My ggg grandfather Robert Dent was John's elder brother.  I have also seen the monument in Madras, 15 years ago - isn't it splendid?  We should be in contact offline as much too much to share in this forum - but I am not sure how to do this as I think they edit out personal email addresses (probably sensibly) for fear of becoming a victim of spam.     Kind regards Nick (Nicholas Dent)

Hi Margaret,

I am a decendant of Charlotte Ann Tipping (Anne Cleather Loane and John Tipping's Daughter).

Would it be possible to get a copy of the certificates you have for your research on the LOANE and the DUNSTERVILLE/CLEATHER Connections?

Any info you could possibly share would be wonderful!

Kind regards,
Rachael.

If you click on the little scroll icon to the left of the message body from Rachael's last message, you can 'personal message' her with your e-mail address. For her to do it she has to have made 3 postings to the site.
