You all know me as Robert Coble the one that wright backwards in the chat room there.


I am sorry for any miss leading of this email which some would have got there. This is what it said as follows:

I'm Sorry I didn't inform you about my traveling to England UK for a program, I'm presently
in England and am having some difficulties here because I misplaced my Bag on my way to the hotel where my other valuable things were kept. presently my passport and my things are been held down by the hotel management pending when I make payment. I will like you to assist me with a loan of 1845 Pounds ($3600) to sort-out my Hotel bills and to get myself back home.I will appreciate whatever you can afford to assist me with,I'll Refund the money back to you as soon as I return.Please I will be waiting to hear from you soon and keep me in prayer because that matters a lot. Our first priority is safety because I do not feel safe or secured, let me know if you can be of any help? ASAP.

Presumably, the emails contained some form of contact details - otherwise no-one would know how to send money. If so, I'm sure the police could at least identify the intended recipient?

I have just received a very similar scam email from
a usually trusted contact on rootschat.This is just to
let you know that its doing the rounds again.I've sent
a personal message via Rootschat to my contact,can
anyone explain how they dealt with this problem.The only
choice I have at the moment is to put it in the junkmail folder
but I know this will block any contact from my genuine contact.

My email account was hacked about a week ago and all my contacts received a similar message, unlike you I was held up at gunpoint and apparently lucky to escape with my life. Unfortunately as I said my email was hacked, so I lost all my contact addresses, letters and family tree information but fortunately I had copied most of it, I have since changed my email server as my old one would do nothing  to help, retrieve  my account, which I believe is still in the hands of the hacker. And as the hacker has changed the password to the account I would be very unlikely to ever retrieve anything from it. Unfortunately the email that the hackers sent the people in my contact list gave no forwarding detail about where to send the money.
