Clarke, Galway

Hi to everyone on this thread.

I am also looking for the Clarke name in Co Galway. Michael Clarke born c 1844, father's name Edward Clarke. He came to England around the early 1860s, but I know nothing of him before this apart from his father's name on his marriage certificate. He married in Wales in 1865, ending up in Lancashire after that.
I would love to know where you find the baptism records, Irish ancestry is so frustrating, due to the lack of surviving records.
Thanks in advance of any help you can offer

The Irish Family History Foundation pay-website (www.irish-roots.ie or ifhf.brsgenealogy.com) has parish transcripts for Co. Galway - they have a list of parish details included in the their system at this link : IFHF Sources

I dont see any matches listed around the right time in Galway for a Michael Clarke with a father's name of Edward.

do you know what religion Michael was ?
