I am trying to get in contact with relatives of Rinty Monaghan.  My great Grandmother was called Anne Monaghan.

A name from my childhood - from which it should be possible to gauge my age!

What did "Rinty" stand for -  apart from trying not to be knocked down?

I remember there being articles about him, and possibly living relatives?, in the local newspapers when the blue plaque was unveiled.

There a book listed here-  Rinty: The Story of a Champion (Hardcover) by Eamonn O'Hara:

I seem to remember listening to fights on the radio as a child. Rinty always sang at the end of the bout -win or lose- When Irish eyes are smiling.
