I haven't come across the name Mary yet, but the time and place fit in with my tree. Do you have the name of Mary's parents?

Hi rdarby.

I haven't really followed them up.
Robert Purdy was my direct Purdy G/Grandfathers Brother.
(Yes, I know it doesnt seem many Generations but James Purdy was born 1828 and his daughter was born 1878 in New Zealand and my Mother 1912)
From the names of their children I would think her Father is William as there is no Williams in the Purdy direct Tree.
Their Children;
Robert Purdy 1848
William Ogle Purdy, 1850
Phoebe Ogle Purdy 1853
Unfortunately Mary only has Northumberland as her POB on all the Census I have found.

My mother Edna May Ogle was born in Blyth, and having just come back from a holiday at Howick,am having another go at tracing her family tree,

As we cannot discuss possibly living people on here have you gone back further with your Mothers Tree?

Mum's father was Henry Ogle b. 1879, his father was Robert Wilson Ogle, his father was Robert Wilson, his mother was Elizabeth Ogle although they never married. Elizabeth Ogle's mother was Elizabeth Ogle also unmarried, Elizabeth Ogle's father was George Ogle husband of Ann.
I can't get any further back than these.

Hi David, I also have a George Ogle in my tree, but his wife was Sarah Forrest as far as I can see. I guess there are so many branches in a tree, there may be  a connection somewhere further back.( the name George was also used again later;my grgrgrandmother Jane Ogle had a brother George who died as a young man soon after arriving in Australia in the 1850's)
