Hi my Fitzpatrick family came from Ballyglass County Clare Ireland in 1849  - names
James - 1795 - 1861 SA
children -
Patrick George
Michael
Bridget
Maria
Catherine
James
Ann
George
Ellen (my gggrandmother)
John James
Mathew
most of these children came to SA with their father and either lived and married there or in Victoria.  Their ages were between late teens to mid 20s.
Some of them established a family in Mount Barker SA.

Hi Faye, I was wondering if you have any information on James's son Mathew.
My GGG is a Mathew Fitzpatrick from what seems to be the Ennis area. Or, that's at least where 2 of his children Thomas and Catherine, my GG Grandmother
married. I have the wedding record of Catherine's marriage in 1880 and found the ship she immigrated to NY on but I continuously strike out on a death certificate
I can't use the 1910 census as the sheets in the area of NYC are so faded
they look blank. Any information would be wonderful.

Hi Danielle,  I wonder if it is the same Mathew, perhaps it is because he did not come with the rest of the family to Aust.  I have him married to Catherine Hassett (which makes sense if your ancestor is also a Catherine) and the children I know of are Margaret 1841?  and John born 1843?  I have a note  - A Franciscan Friar who was compiling a history of Doora said there was only 1 Fitzpatrick family in the parish.

I will look into this and let you know anything further I find my email is (*) Faye

Have you tried the clarelibrary.ie ? I found a listing for a John whom was married to a Catherine for gravestones in the Drumcliff Cemetery in Ennis. I also found a listing for a baptism for Thomas born 3-17-1848 to a John & Kate Halloren or Halloran in the Parish of Kilmaley. I. Want to say I found the baptism at rootsweb.

There was a large family of Fitzpatrick's in the townland of Tullassa, in Drumcliff parish, just west of Ennis, and on the border with neighboring Kilmaley Parish.  The family used Kilmaley Parish for baptisms and marriages.

I do have a good bit of information on this family if anyone is interested.
