There is a message there somewhere!
« on: Friday 30 October 09 22:08 GMT (UK) »
Hello

This is a picture of the back of an old photo.  Believe it or not there is an inscription in pencil on it.
It is not quite legible enough to make out.
I was hoping some of you kind people could use your wizardy to decipher it.
Thank you

Nick

I think it does, and I think it first says "From Ann"

Hi Nick

Try shining a torch across the writing, parallel to the back of the photo (ie not straight at it).  It helped with one of mine

Thanks for your efforts Terry and Nina
I tried angling the actual picture in sunlight and thought the first bit said M or Mr Turner.
From your picture, I was a mile out!

Here's another one to consider, does the first line say "Love from".  The first letter of the second word looks similar to the f in "family"

I think there's a lot more writing there, after having a fiddle with my photo software.  Something beginning with M and the name could be George, not John.

Thanks for your input Jool.
This is getting rather interesting now!
I've tried Lindas' tip and it definately looks like 'M ( or Mr) Turner'.
I'm going to take another pic and post it on here - maybe the first one didn't have all the text on it.
