Rocky, this is my great-granda Joseph Curran in the centre of the picture, it was taken in 1917 in Motherwell. The young man on the left of the picture is Joe's youngest son, Charles and the other soldier on the right is John (Jack) McDaid, the son of Joe's eldest sister Kate, she was married to John McDade in Ramelton in 1884, they had 3 children born there before moving to Motherwell, where they had 3 more (including Jack). They then moved to Ontario and Joe's son Charles went out there with them. The 2 boys joined the Canadian army and were killed within a month of each other almost at the end of the war. I have visited both their graves in France.
If you look closely you can see Joe's "handlebar" moustache. The 2 girls in the picture were Joe's granddaughters.
