Hope everyone is recovering from the floods without too much inconvenience.
Those who have been flooded might not be straight again for a couple of years

After ruined furniture/carpets etc have been dumped, plaster removed from the affected walls etc, you have to get the dehumidifiers in, then the builders can't make a start till you get a certificate to say the house is "dry". In winter, this can obviously take some time. If there are hundreds of places flooded, there are not enough builders to go round. I think pretty well all of the shops in Cockermouth High Street were ruined.
