Completed -Possible Cemeteries for death in Cockermouth 1865

Hoping I can get some ideas as to where someone would be buried if they died in Cockermouth in 1865 ( assuming they were Church of England) & are there any online searches so that I can find the grave ??

I am looking for the grave of George SEDGWICK. Death registered Dec Quarter 1865

Have you got him in Cockermouth the census before he died? Because from the address you can work out which parish he was in. I'm assuming he did actually live in Cockermouth and not just the registration district. Suggest you look up http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/CUL/Cockermouth/index.html

George Sedgwick, in the 1861 census, is living at Jackson's Yard in the Parish of Crosthwaite (Sp?) in the town of Keswick.

In Cumberland, there were several cases of towns being in "village" parishes (and appearing as such in censuses) while having churches of their own - these examples come to mind-

Whitehaven/St Bees
Cockermouth/Brigham
Maryport/Crosscanonby
and Keswick/Crosthwaite

As SEDGWICK was living in a yard off Main Street, Keswick in 1861, it seems likely to me that he would have been buried there.

Any ideas on how I go about searching for George Sedgwick's Grave - doesn't help that I am in Australia.

George Sedgwick is my husband's great great great grandfather & the last one that I have to find where he was buried. ( I doubt that I will find his parents George & Mary Sedgwick)

Yes duckweed I have seen the website Sedgwick.org. Fred Sedgwick did a great job locating the line.
