Just adding some possible clues to all the info that has been found so far by IsobelR and Ian. You have a likely Stephen as has been shown with family and first wife and children up to 1901. I wondered about the move up to Glamorgan and the second marriage in Bridgend and the possibility that Stephen and first family may have moved there after the 1901 census.

There is for example this potential marriage for one of the daughters who shows in the 1901 entry:

Marriages Dec 1922 
PERRY Cecilia M ~ Dixon in Bridgend 11a   1763

Possible death for first wife who shows in her marriage entry as Mary Catherine:

Deaths Mar 1907

PERRY Mary Catherine, 36,  Bridgend 11a  540
