Thanks for replying.  My ancestor was born at Shorncliffe - his father was a soldier but whether it was at a hospital or at the barracks I have no idea.  Thanks again.   :)

Hi there,yes there is a place called Shorncliffe as l was based there during my Army training.Its right next door to a Place called Cheriton,Folkstone is about 4 miles down the road.Shorncliffe was basically a garrison town,that if l remember was just a very small hamlet in years gone by.Hope this is of some help.
