UK incoming passenger - look up request
« on: Sunday 25 October 09 12:06 GMT (UK) »
Hello

I have been told that Aylmer Ewart Richardson emigrated to Canada.
Aylmer was born in Norfolk, England in 1887.
According to search results, there is an Aylmer Richardson in the UK Incoming passenger lists 1878-1960 arriving in Plymouth.
Please, does anyone have access to these records who could have a look and let me know the details for this entry and whether he is travelling alone?

thank you

Hi Gramsie,

I'm afraid the Aylmer you found was only age 2 in 1929, arriving from Bombay and travelling with Mrs Norah Richardson age 29, wife of a planter and Sheila Richardson age 5.
Address in England W. Ealing London but country of permanent residence India.

Hi Gramsie

You ask the question about the incoming passenger list, but do you have Aylmer on the outgoing one?
He left Belfast on 4 July 1924 bound for Quebec.
He is listed as a clerk aged 35 and his future country of residence is Canada.
The address given is c/o C.P.R. London SW1.

The ship was the Marburn.

Regards

Carol

Hi Carol
Thank you for that information. Just need to track down his brother Ernest John W Richardson now, but I couldn't find a suitable entry  :(  He was in Norwich, Norfolk, England at the time of the 1911 census but some time after that emigrated and worked in Winnipeg

When was Ernest born? The name is far more common than Aylmer and I would need to narrow it down by DOB.

Thank you Carol
Ernest was born in Norfolk in 1877 - he was an assistant clerk in Norwich, Norfolk in 1911 and when in Canada was a hospital secretary.
