McGarrigle/McKearney in Donegal
« on: Friday 23 October 09 13:29 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I'm looking for information about the McGarrigle and McKearney famalies from Donegal.

My great-great grandfather was John McGarrigle born in Ramelton, Donegal around 1839. His occupation was that of whitesmith.

He married Sarah McKearney, born around 1836, from Donegal. I have no marriage details for them but believe they moved to Liverpool in the 1860s or 1870s.

I would be gratefully for any information/links.

Thanks

Very strange because Ballyshannon is also in Co.Donegal, not Co. Londonderry
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Ramelton if 10mins away from Letterkenney, McGarrigle lived all around Ballyshannon and play irish football for Aodh Ruadh.  The Ballyshannon site covers a lot of places photo of McGarrigle on this site under OLD PHOTOs.  www.geocities.com/johngall_99/oldphoto1C.html Broken Link
If you go through www.google.com when the box comes up type in Rodh Ruadh you will see photos of McGarrigle.
