Hi Dorothea and Dave,

Not sure whether I have understood your question correctly, but Joseph and Lucy CASTLE are the subject of this thread, although it has widened to the Castles of Basingstoke. They are my wife's ggggrandparents and it looks as though Joseph Castle was the son of John Castle and Mary ROLFE. He was also the brother of the Richard who was born in1792, who was the father of Hannah b 1816.

Hope that helps,
John

Hello again,

Sorry, don't know any more details of John and Mary - if you read back through the thread you'll find a possible for John in Nursling in 1841 which gives a dob of 1766. Ages above 15 were usually rounded down in 1841 to the nearest 5 years, so he could have been born between 1761 and 1766 if it is the same John.

I see there are several trees on ancestry with your Castle line - which one is yours, please? (If you prefer, you can send me the details by a private message.)

Many thanks,
John
