Missing Galston parish records
« on: Thursday 22 October 09 20:24 BST (UK) »
The micro film record of births in the parish of Galston is incomplete. There are 14 pages not recorded on microfilm, from January 1818 to the 9th April 1820. These pages contain information on 150 births. I have copies of the missing pages which I have been told will be re-filmed in the future, however if you are viewing a film made before 2004 these 150 births will not be shewn. If anyone would like me to look up any particular family let me know.

Thank you for the kind offer.   I am looking for a James Thomson or Thompson born Galston approx 1926 maybe earlier.   On his death cert. he is listed as illegitimate and there are blanks where the parents names should be.   I am assuming he was baptised but have been looking for information for several years now to no avail.    Perhaps you can help.    Thanks,   Doonayr

Sorry, I only have births between January 1818 and April 1820. 1926 will be under the statuary births which started in 1855, or was it 1856

I made a mistake on the date.   It should read 1826 or thereabouts.     Sorry!!

His name was definately James but I thank you just the same.   Lots of Thomsons in that area but not the one I'm looking for    Cheers.

There are two entries in which NESBITT appears

Hutcheon - Thomas lawful son of Thomas Hutcheon a Member of the Society of Advocates in Aberdeen and Writer in Galston and Louisa Laurier Nesbitt was born 30th April Bapt.3rd June 1818

then again, same names and information on same parents but this time it is a lawful daughter called Catherine Hutcheon born 3rd Jan Bapt 1st Feb 1820

Hope this is of some use to you
