I came across your entry today, can I just add this, which may or not help you. There was an advert in the Leeds Mercury in 1835 for the sale of a stone-house at Newbiggin Hill, in the occupation of a Benjamin Broadhead.
The full advert reads thus:
The Leeds Mercury Saturday, May 30, 1835
Sale by Mr. H. Badger-NEW MILLER DAM near Wakefield (by orders of the Executors of the late Mr. Thomas Goodair) at the Dam Inn, at New Miller Dam near Wakefield, in the county of York.
All those 5 stone-built dwelling houses with the yard and appurtenances thereto belonging pleasantly situate upon Newbiggin Hill, or Hill Top, at New Miller Dam, in the township if Sandal Magna, in the said county in the several occupations of Thomas Benn, Thomas Earnshaw, Benjamin Broadhead, John Bowman, and John Jenkinson. The tenants will show the premises and all further particulars may be known at application to Mr. B Badger, the auctioneer, South Terrace Rotherham or Mr. Badger, Attorney, Rotherham.
