Hello Mick,
Amongst the Lamb history you have researched, do you have anything on the origins of the Manners name in the family?
I am trying to trace the frustratingly elusive origins of my great-great grandfather Joseph John Manners (c.1840-95), who died at Belford, Northumberland, so any Manners family in the county is of interest.

In case you dont have the 1871 Census;
Paddington, London
Joseph J Mamrers, 30, Coachman, born Chatham, Kent
Eleanor M Mamrers, 28
Joseph J Mamrers, 3
William Mamrers, 6 Months
All but Joseph down as born Windsor, Berkshire

Looked at Marriage, on Anc but cant find a David Manners, Soldier, only 1 born c 1811 Scotland.
Mother of his Children is nee GATLEY (Gro Index) No Joseph John/John Joseph with them though.
David seems to disappear after 1841 Census.

Thanks Trish.  I've been searching for Joseph's origins for some 30 years now, but there is no record of him prior to his marriage in London in 1868.  The fact he died in Northumberland has always made me wonder whether he had family connections he finally returned to.  I appreciate you taking the time to look.
