Anyone have link or access to Bastardy files for Aberdeenshire ?

Looking for the father of Thomas Ainslie son of Mary Ainslie born
26.08.1880 in Aberdeen, Dundee or  St. Andrew Fife ??

Hi Cully,
I bought the certificate of Thomas Ainslie's birth. sadly it doesn't have the perternity claim on the side. so can't give a volumn no, to look in.
It said born 26/8/1880 at 3pm, at Denhead? mother Mary, Domestic servant.  in United District of St Andrews and St Leonards, Fife.

Maybe his Marriage, would say,

They were files kept with parish records as I understand which basically named and shamed suspected fathers.
Even though they weren,t named on the birth certificate.

Thank you for explaining - I'll have to look into this further as there are a couple of illegitimate children I would like to know more about.

I also have an interest in this area.
If any one comes across a CHRISTIAN JOHNSTON born around 1863 in the area of Longside, Cruden. Mother I think was LIZZIE ANGUS and father a GEORGE JOHNSTON.
I have been unable to find any marriage and I have been told that Christian was reared by another family.
Can anyone help at all, please?

Longside, Ab mother Elisa Angus, house servant.
informant was her Aunt. [I presume they mean Christians Aunt.]

In the 1881 Census
living at Cuttyhill. Longside.
Christian Angus unmarried 44yrs, Head, born Longside.
Dressmaker.
Christian Johnston unmarried 18 yrs, Niece, vorn Longside, general servant.

I can find no Marriage of George Angus and Christian Buchan, but their children were,
