Paisley Combination Poorhouse 1881
« on: Wednesday 21 October 09 12:05 BST (UK) »
Have found a record of a relative who was in the above in 1881.
Does anyone out there know where I would be able to find the actual Poorhouse records of this person.  Am interested to know the background on why they ended up there.
Thanks your help.

There were originally two poorhouses but either way, the records are apparently at Paisley Central Library.

Good luck with your search my great great grandmother was also in the poorhouse in 1881, I found The poor law records held in the paisley Library and it held some details as to why she turned there for help, amazing documents, very sad really as she wasn't always poor, she was buried in a paupers grave in Hawkhead cemetery
