Richard Garnett b-1814 d-1879 Weaverham
« on: Friday 16 October 09 20:36 BST (UK) »
I am trying to locate the birth/baptism record for my ancestor Richard Garnett. The Cheshire Parish record Project does not appear to hold a record and i can locate no records on Ancestry etc, etc

Richard's father was William according to the marriage cert of Richards marriage in 1839 to Elizabeth Wood. I have all census details for 1841 - 1871 which suggest that Richard was born in Kingsley.

I would like to know the name of Richards mother so that i can continue my search down the family line.

Can anyone give me some tips on where to go next, unfortunately i cannot visit the cheshire records office !

Welcome to RootsChat
After George Rose's Act of 1812 baptisms in the Church of England were entered on a standard form in printed books, and only the mother's Christian name is given. If he married in 1839 then he may have been baptised after 1812.

Thanks for the advice from celia, think ive got the hang of it.Yes Richard was on the move to Crowton where he and Elizabeth had thier children, gggrandad Samuel in particular.Thence to Weaverham,Gorstage hall as a farm labourer after that i concentrated on Samuel, whose son John had my grandad Samuel and of course he had my father Leslie. Most interested to see in a census gg John was living as a child at station road Hartford.I remember the house before  the railways modernized and knocked it down.Obtained a calender print showing the house and of course britania loco passing under the road bridgeFound an 1881 census stating 3 station road witton cum twembrooks (northwich)coincidental move 20yrs later?Sorry to go on cant help myself,Tim of chirk
