had a look with no success im afraid.

The only Mabel was
Hardy, Mabel L 3 West Ham, Essex Daughter  West Ham  Essex

else there is a Mabel who is 8.

and the only Alfred
Hardy, Alfred 1 West Ham, Essex Son  West Ham  Essex

but these 2 children didn't live together and they are not quite the right ages and neither of the parents matched.

Looking up Alfred Ernest & Emma Jane is a bit difficult without an age and a place of birth to help narrow it down, so didn't really have a good look for them. maybe if you can supply their details maybe someone will have more luck, but i did search West Ham and Limehouse, but they may not be there.

Tara  :(
Hertfordshire(Anstey, the Hadham, Reed, Standon): Gault, Hoy, Miles, Smith
Shropshire(Aston Botterell,Burwarton,Stoke St Milborough,Wheathill): Angell, Blackmore, Blakemore, Bennett, Pheysey

Warwickshire(Birmingham,Edgbaston): Angell
Yorkshire(Doncaster,Hull): Brooks, Doe

Thank you for taking the trouble to look in the 1891 census for me. I have looked and thought that it must be me missing them.

Emma Jane was born in Cliffe End Ramsgate Kent in 1856 but on the 1881 census her birth year was given as 1847. In 1884 she married Alfred Ernest and gave her age as 24 but on the 1901 census her age is given as 43.

Alfred Ernest said on his marriage certificate in 1884 that he was 25. On the 1901 census his age is give as aged 40 born London. So far no luck with his birth but going on the above it is between 1858 and 1862.

I can only assume that they were elsewhere on census night - although someone did mention that some households were just recorded with initials for their christian names. Then there is the possibility that they have been transcribed incorrectly ie Flardy and Heardy.

Could take years to find them!
