Crowe - Leck, Macosquin, Coleraine
« on: Sunday 11 October 09 23:19 BST (UK) »
I am trying to trace the Crowe family of Leck, Macosquin, Coleraine.  William John Crowe and Elizabeth King had 12 children, one of whom was Hugh King.  Hugh then had a son named Hugh King who married Mary Pollock and they had 10 children, one of whom was my mother.  On checking the 1911 census I have found 6 of the 12 children born to William James and Elizabeth and am looking for any others.  The ones I have found to date are Hugh King, William James, John, George, Bessie and Saddie.  The other address they lived at was Kilmaconnel, Macosquin, Coleraine.

Thank you once again - I had been looking Ringsend Presbyterian Church graveyard so now need to go to Killaig churchyard to find the relatives!

Now to confuse you a little!  William John Crowe and Betty King had a child called Hugh King and he married a Mary Jane - I am looking for her maiden surname.  I know according to the 1911 census that they had a boy called Hugh King born 1905.  There were 2 other children to this union but it appears they died either as babies or later in infancy.

In case you are interested in Tannahill side of the house (and there are LOTS of them):
Alexander Tannahill.
Son, Alexander Tannahill (c1724-1796) m. Mary Douglas (c1738-1819), buried Agivey Burying-ground.
Their son, Frederick Tannahill (c1800-1879) m. Mary.
And their son John Tannahill (c1836-1895) m.(1869) Mary Smyth (c1849-1903)- parents of Mary Jane Tannahill m.Hugh King Crowe.
