Boulton of Hanley
« on: Sunday 11 October 09 15:07 BST (UK) »
Any details of Boultons born in Hanley between 1700-1850.

I have a Mary Ann (Annie) Boulton born circa 1847.

Possible parents David and Olive, but I have not confirmed this and cannot do so until I have a copy birth certificate (awaiting marriage certficate for Mary and Edward John Tew (1865).

Any help appreciated, as IGI not very good for Hanley.

Hi,

David and Olive Boulton are my ggg Grandparents. They had a daughter called Mary Ann, born in 1849 in Hanley. I know from their marriage certificate that Olive's maiden name was Williamson and that David Boulton's father was a Samuel Boulton but haven't been able to find his mother's name as of yet, nor his birth record which is very frustrating. I've not been able to find the family on the 1851 census (possibly it's missing) but they are on the 1841 and 1861 censuses, as are the Williamsons who I also haven't been able to find on the 1851 census.

I'd love to hear from you if you find you are connected to this family as I've not heard from anyone connected to my Boultons before.

Good luck searching,

Zoe

I can go back to a George Boulton born in c 1795 in Hanley who married my relative Lydia Mountford and had children in Hanley from 1816.

All you Boultons out there.  :)

It now seems that Mary Ann Boulton, did not marry my ancestor Edward John Tew as I first thought. Edward married his niece Annie Tew.

However Annies father Robert Tew DID marry one Mary Boulton in September 1844 at Bucknall cum Bagnall.

Anyone connected with this Boulton ?

Hi, dont have full access so cannot confirm 100% but on the 1851 Census, I have found on FindMyPast

Robert TEW b1824, living in an Institution.
Any further info/scanned images would be appreciated  ;)

Mary TEW b1827, living in Stoke upon Trent with Ann b 1848 and Lydia (another reoccurring name within my TEWs) b1845.
Again any further info/scanned images would be appreciated.  ;)

Thanks,as you will see from my first message to this thread your mention of the name Lydia is very interesting. In fact one of the children I have recorded of George Boulton and Lydia Mountford is a Mary Boulton who I have born in Hanley in 1826.I don't as yet have info as to who she married.
