Thomas DAVIES(DAVIS)
« on: Thursday 08 October 09 08:43 BST (UK) »
Can anyone point me in the right direction as I am trying to find details of my family who lived in the US, from 1882-1898 in I believe the Ohio area, and are there any sites concerning deaths/births, as I believe one of the children died there, and three were born there. His details are Thomas and (Ann DAVIES.) Father and Mother. B.1849.and 1850, Llandybie, Camarthenshire, Wales. He was a Carpenter, and returned home and built two American style houses in Llandybie in 1898, the only ones in the UK, and are now Grade 2 listed.
Davies of Llandybie, Carmarthenshire. Richards of Neath, Glamorgan. Gregory of Glamorganshire. Seaton, and Seabrook of  Surrey/London & Fieldhouse  of Kent & London. Toll of London. Berry of Devon & London. Powell of Radnorshire & Herefordshire. Also Royal Warwickshire Regiment, and Royal Signals, and HMS Crescent 1892 One. Info Re T.Davies in Youngstown, and Mahoning, Ohio 1882-1887. Shackell of Cardiff. Rudd, and Parnell, Norfolk.

There is a good list of death information for Ohio here:  http://www.deathindexes.com/ohio/index.html  Records weren't required state-wide in Ohio until 1908, so there's limited information available before then.
